Stillwren privacy policy
Last updated October 28, 2026. This policy covers the Android app Stillwren: Noise Reducer (com.tinyfair.stillwren) published by Tinyfair on Google Play.
The short version
The app works on your phone. We do not have accounts or servers, your videos, audio and recordings never leave your phone, the microphone is used only while you record, the app has no camera, location, contacts or media permission, and we never receive your files or personal details. Data leaves your phone only for ads, purchases and crash reports (Google) and for a small settings file the app downloads from our website, as described below.
Data that stays on your phone
- Videos and audio files
- Videos are chosen with the Android photo picker and audio files with the Android file picker, or shared to Stillwren from another app, so the app cannot see the rest of your files. Their sound is decoded and cleaned on your phone; working files are kept in the app's private storage while it cleans. Nothing is uploaded, sent to us or passed to the ad SDK.
- Recordings
- The microphone is used only on the Record screen, after you tap Record. The recording is kept in the app's private storage so you can compare it with the clean version, and is deleted automatically after 7 days. Discard deletes it right away.
- Clean files
- Created only when you tap Clean & save. Videos go to Movies/Stillwren and audio to Music/Stillwren on your phone. Where you share them next is up to you.
- Recent list and settings
- File names, lengths and small waveforms of your clean files, and your settings, are saved on your phone. If you use Android backup, Android may include them in your Google account backup.
- Trial reminder
- If you start a free trial, one reminder 2 days before it ends is scheduled on your phone by Android. Nothing about it leaves your phone.
- Purchases
- Handled by Google Play; we never see your payment details.
Settings file from tinyfair.my.id
When it starts, the app downloads a small settings file from https://tinyfair.my.id/config/stillwren.json (the minimum app version and how often ads may appear). The request sends no personal data, no audio and no identifier. Like any web request, our web host sees your IP address in its standard server logs; we do not use it to identify you or link it to anything else.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The free version shows a small banner on the home screen, once you have clean files there and from your second session, and in Settings. There are no ads in the editor or preview, while a file is cleaned, while you record, on the Saved screen, on the Pro screen, and no ad when you open the app. A full-screen ad may appear when you leave the Saved screen after a file is saved. It never appears in your first session in the app, at most once every 90 seconds and at most 8 times a day. You can also choose to watch 2 short videos for 24 hours of Pro. Ad content is limited to no higher than the PG rating, and dating, social casino and similar ads are blocked. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, an approximate location from your IP address, information about ad interactions, and diagnostics. Your files and recordings are never passed to the ad SDK. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the app asks for your consent first, and you can change it later under Settings, Privacy options. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Pro removes all ads.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes or hits a serious error, it sends a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service that helps us find and fix the bug. A report contains the error and where it happened in the code, the app version, the device model, the Android version, and a random installation ID that is not linked to you, your Google account or your advertising ID. It never contains your audio, videos, recordings or anything that identifies you. Reports are kept for 90 days. See Firebase privacy and security.
Purchases (Google Play)
Pro is sold through Google Play Billing as a yearly subscription (with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers), a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in Google Play. We do not see your payment details; Google Play tells the app only whether Pro is active.
Permissions
Microphone, asked only when you tap Record. Notifications, asked before the first file longer than a minute is cleaned (to show progress and tell you when it is ready) and when you start a free trial (one reminder 2 days before it ends). Foreground service (data sync), so a long file keeps cleaning when you switch apps. Start at boot, so the trial reminder is set again after a restart. No camera, location, contacts, photos and media, storage or exact alarm permission; files are chosen with the Android photo and file pickers. Google's ad, purchase and notification libraries add the advertising ID, network state, wake lock, vibration and billing permissions. Internet is used for ads, purchases, crash reports and the settings file described above, never for cleaning.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and deleting data
Everything Stillwren stores is on your phone. Recordings are deleted by themselves after 7 days. To delete the Recent list, settings and recordings at once, uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings (Apps, Stillwren, Storage). Clean files you saved stay in Movies/Stillwren and Music/Stillwren until you delete them.
