Backvox privacy policy
Last updated October 18, 2026. This policy covers the Android app Backvox: Reverse Audio & Voice (com.tinyfair.backvox) published by Tinyfair on Google Play.
The short version
The app works on your phone. We do not have accounts or servers, we do not track how you use the app, and we never receive your recordings or personal details. The only data that leaves your phone goes to Google: for ads, for purchases, and a crash report if the app crashes, as described below.
Data that stays on your phone
- Recordings
- Your voice is recorded and processed on your phone and saved only in the app's own storage. Recordings are never sent to us. Delete them in the app or by uninstalling.
- Imported audio
- Files you pick with the system file picker are copied into the app's storage on your phone.
- Shared videos
- Videos are made on your phone and only leave it when you choose an app to share them with.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, and information about ad interactions and app crashes. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the app asks for your consent first, and you can change it later under Settings, Privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Buying Pro removes all ads.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes or hits a serious error, it sends a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service that helps us find and fix the bug. A report contains the error and where it happened in the code, the app version, the device model, the Android version, and a random installation ID that is not linked to you, your Google account or your advertising ID. It never contains your recordings, videos or scores. Reports are kept for 90 days. See Firebase privacy and security.
Purchases (Google Play)
Pro is sold through Google Play Billing as a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. You can cancel a subscription anytime in Google Play. We do not see your payment details; Google Play tells the app only whether Pro is active.
Permissions
Microphone, only to record you while the app is open; nothing is recorded in the background. Notifications (to remind you before a free trial ends). Audio files are chosen with the system picker, so no storage, location or contacts permission is needed. Internet is used for ads and purchases.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and deleting data
Everything the app stores is on your phone: delete it inside the app or uninstall the app to remove it. For ad data, use your Android advertising ID settings or the Privacy choices option in the app.
