Tonewash privacy policy
Last updated October 18, 2026. This policy covers the Android app Tonewash: Speaker Cleaner (com.tinyfair.tonewash) published by Tinyfair on Google Play.
The short version
The app works on your phone. We do not have accounts or servers, we do not track how you use the app, and we never receive your cycles, measurements or personal details. The only data that leaves your phone goes to Google: for ads, for purchases, and a crash report if the app crashes, as described below.
Data that stays on your phone
- Microphone
- Used only for about 4 seconds while you tap Measure, to hear three test tones. The sound is analysed on your phone and immediately discarded. Nothing is recorded, saved as audio or uploaded. Only three numbers per measurement are kept.
- History
- Cycle times and measurement numbers are saved only on your phone. A CSV export is made only when you share it.
- Purchases and trial reminder
- Handled by Google Play; we never see your payment details. The trial reminder is scheduled on your phone by Android.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, and information about ad interactions and app crashes. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the app asks for your consent first, and you can change it later under Settings, Privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Buying Pro removes all ads.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If the app crashes or hits a serious error, it sends a crash report to Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service that helps us find and fix the bug. A report contains the error and where it happened in the code, the app version, the device model, the Android version, and a random installation ID that is not linked to you, your Google account or your advertising ID. It never contains your measurements, history or anything the microphone hears. Reports are kept for 90 days. See Firebase privacy and security.
Purchases (Google Play)
Pro is sold through Google Play Billing as a one-time lifetime purchase, or as a yearly (with a free trial for new subscribers) or monthly subscription. You can cancel a subscription anytime in Google Play. We do not see your payment details; Google Play tells the app only whether Pro is active.
Permissions
Microphone, only while you measure, after you tap Measure. Modify audio settings, to play through the earpiece and to set the volume to maximum when you tap "Set to max" (the old volume comes back afterwards). Vibration. Notifications, only to remind you before a free trial ends. No location, contacts, camera or storage access. Internet is used for ads, purchases and crash reports.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and deleting data
Everything the app stores is on your phone: delete it inside the app or uninstall the app to remove it. For ad data, use your Android advertising ID settings or the Privacy choices option in the app.
Changes and contact
